CSA SHARES

Talkeetna Grown CSA

CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. Members pay in advance for a share of the farm's bounty. Talkeetna Grown started with 18 founding members in 2010 and has grown to over 60 shares in two communities. The harvest season begins in late June and continues through mid September. Shares are boxed. We deliver 10-13 weeks of fresh veggies to members with pick up locations in Talkeetna and Denali. Click here for more information about how it works and what to expect. NO CSA for 2024, but watch for more info about how and where to buy our veggies!

U-PICK
Berries

Our nursery includes black and red currants, serviceberries (saskatoon), rhubarb and sometimes raspberries and strawberries. Depending on each year's weather, rhubarb is available in late June, and most berries in mid August. U-Pick is usually available on weekends mid-August through early September. Although we encourage pick-your-own customers mostly for currants, please always call (907) eight four one seven eight eight five or (907) seven three three one zero nine zero before driving out to find out conditions and availability. Better to save the long bumpy drive for a day when you know there's something to pick!

Where to Find
Our Products

From mid June through early September, you can find Talkeetna Grown produce at local farm stands. Each year's schedules and locations are different. In the past we have held farm stands at Flying Squirrel Bakery, Willow Farmer's Market, and in the Denali area. After September, Flying Squirrel Bakery Cafe sells late crops over the counter such as fresh kale, red and green cabbage, potatoes and carrots! We have sold produce to several Talkeetna and Denali restaurants including Flying Squirrel Bakery Cafe, Black Bear Coffee, Talkeetna Spinach Bread and many more.

HAY
is for Horses

Most of the cleared 100 acres at Birch Creek Ranch yield timothy and other grasses. Talkeetna's weather can be very unkind to a hay farmer who must wait for just the right conditions to achieve desired dry, green hay. Hay fields are currently maintained with cutting only to maintain quality. We will consider leasing the fields for hay production for the right interested party. Future plans include fencing so fields can be maintained with rotational grazing of livestock!
